2023 Friday Night Cruise Ins

August 25th, CCC Friday Night Cruise In
The temps finally got out of the heat index of triple digits and bearable for our CCC Friday Night Cruise In at the Coral Ridge Mall. We had 70 registered and about 90+ on the parking area. Registration collected $283 for Hospice. Sue Connell was the Hospice Volunteer and commented how appreciative she was to see participants so generous for Hospice.
50/50 totaled $111 and the lucky ticket holder was Sara Brown, Iowa City and she took home $55. Hospice got $56. More tickets were drawn for Grand Door Prizes - Sperry Engines, Cedar Rapids donated a $50 off service and Gloria Drapac, Coralville was the lucky winner. Sperry Engines, Cedar Rapids also donated a $50 VISA Card and Terry Protestor was the lucky winner. Riverside Casino, Riverside donated a one night stay with two buffets and Diane Stastny had the lucky ticket.
We had participants come from Iowa City, West Liberty, Swisher, Tipton, Oxford, Ely, Holbrook, Cedar Rapids, Williamsburg, Coralville, Farmington, Rock Island Illinois, Riverside, Hiawatha, Keota, Hills, Solon, Fairfield, West Branch, North Liberty, Ladora, Naperville Illinois, Mt Vernon, Homestead, Tiffin, and Wellman.
Randy Miller had the Rudy Blues BBQ Food Truck there, however he commented the last Cruise in in July and this one was not profitable for him and he decided that he will not be at the September Friday Night Cruise In.

JULY CCC FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE IN
It was a “Sizziling Hot” CCC Friday Night Cruise In on July 28, 2023! 110-degree heat Index in the shade. With the heat, Ragbrai bicycles, closures of streets and roads in Coralville we had very few show. We registered 20 classics and brought in $41 for Hospice. There were a few others on the lot that said they were not staying long in the heat. 50/50 collected $53 with the winning ticket going to Bill Lusinski, Muscatine, who donated his half back to Hospice. Sperry Engines Cedar Rapids sponsored a $50 off Service voucher and Tom Toolick, Brookfield, Il had the lucky ticket. Sperry Engines, Cedar Rapids also sponsored with a $50 Visa Card and Leanne Mallory, Coralville had the lucky ticket drawn. We also announced the winner of the May/June CCC Survey that was conducted and Mike Drapac, Coralville had completed that survey and provided his contact information. Mike won a $100 Visa Card from Classy Chassy Cruisers.
Sue McConnell was there as the Hospice Representative. She commented she was used the heat as a farmer’s wife.
Rudy Blues BBQ Food Truck was there to provide food and beverage. We did have several Ragbrai riders stop to view the classics and visit – one was from New York and the other from Mississippi.
We closed at 7:45p with storms approaching from the north. We want to thank those that came to set up, work the tables, and tear down – Mike and Gloria Drapac, Leanne Mallory, Ed Logan, Mitchel Shingledecker, Mel Cannon, Dennis Plate, Mark and Donna Heacock (we hope we didn’t forget anyone because you deserve credit too. We want to thank our sponsors too! Hopefully the August CCC Friday Night Cruise In will be cooler.

























JUNE FRIDAY NIGHT CRUISE IN
The June 30th Friday Night Cruise In was great! The weather cooperated and the skies were blue and sunny. We had 103 registered and over 130 in the parking area. Registration was worked by Michelle and Darren/Gloria and Leanne, and they all collected $272.00 for Hospice. 50/50 brought in $257.00. 50/50 was sold at the table and Michelle and Darren went out in the crowd – Great job! The winning ticket was donated back to Hospice. Grand prizes were drawn from the 50/50 bucket. Sperry Engines, Cedar Rapids donated a $50 off service and Dave Houselog, Tiffin had the lucky ticket. The winner of the Sperry Engines, Cedar Rapids donated $50 VISA Card was Chloe Portwood, Williamsburg. Riverside Casino donated one night stay with two buffets and Gloria Drapac, Coralville had the lucky ticket. Mary McCarthy was there to represent Hospice.
